Maydoum pyramid

The Medom pyramid was built during the ancient state of King Snefru of the fourth Dynasty in Medom (2620 BC); it currently has three terraces. It was the fifth largest pyramids of Egypt when it was built. It seems that this pyramid was not for the purpose of being a tomb of Snefru, but rather a cemetery or pyramid of lies. The Medom pyramid characterizes the heart shape of the pyramid, which looks like a high stone surrounded by sand and debris, which ignites the shape of the pyramid away from the imagination

The unusual shape of the pyramid attracted the attention of the population and visitors who call it the "false pyramid". It was written by Taqi al-Din al-Maqrizi during the twelfth century AD and described it as a building consisting of 5 terraces, indicating that the factors of erosion, especially the use of stones in other buildings, it was not then reached the form of the present

Building a pyramid

The Maydom pyramid was the first building built by Senefro after he ascended the throne in Egypt. He chose a place to build near the seat of his government, "Gedi Senefro", which is now near Maydum, and was not previously dedicated to the royal tombs.

According to the construction of the Maydom pyramid, the history of the evolution of the pyramid appears to be a complete pyramid. angesehen. [4] The current shape of the pyramid represents a three-tiered tower surrounded by high debris, indicating the collapse of the outer shell layer and the stones that filled the terraces between the terraces. The stones used to build the pyramid were derived from a quarry about 800 meters south of the construction site

Stages of construction

The first stage

The first phase of the building was identical to the built pyramid method that was followed during the third family. It consists of layers of incised stones at a 75 ° angle of limestone from adjacent quarries, covered by a layer of white limestone surface. The rib of the pyramid during the first phase was 105 meters, ending with seven terraces, reaching a height of 71 meters. After the completion of the fourth or fifth terrace, the design of the building changed according to the second phase. [8] Until that point, the mummy's chamber was built at the heart of the pyramid rather than underground, as was the case with the stepped pyramid.

Second stage

The second stage begins with the rise of the pyramid to eight terraces. This is why I built an oblique cover of the pyramid, tilted at an angle of 75 degrees, extending from the sides of the base of the pyramid to 120 meters, with the aim of reaching a height of 85 meters. The coverage during the first phase was still in place and the expansion began outside. After the completion of the second phase, it was also covered with flatbed stones. The completion of that phase during the year 14 of the reign of Snefru and Aanda was the pyramid of Sneferu, the second pyramid in the rise at the Pyramid of Zoser, which had been created before him. Although the construction of the pyramid was completed, Snefru decided to build two large pyramids in Dahshur, indicating that he would not take the pyramid of Hadum's tomb after his death. For this reason, the buildings attached to the pyramid, such as the funerary temple and others, were made in a rapid manner

Third level

Development of the pyramid from pyramid pyramid to full pyramid began during the 28 or 29 years of the Sinfero era. This history is based on writings of workers on building stones during this period, which refers to censuses 15, 16 and 17, which were conducted in Egypt for the inventory of cattle every two years, which means the years 30-33 years of the rule of Sanfrew. Because of the pyramid stones during this stage horizontal horizontal, as was followed in the delicate stages of the construction of the slant pyramid, and followed the same technique with the Red Pyramid. The coverage of the pyramid in the second phase was completed and began to be covered by a third cover after the expansion. The third phase was also covered with white limestone stones from the Tura quarries located on the eastern bank of the Nile; this is what we find today under the rubble surrounding the pyramid.

The slope of the pyramid areas was 51 ° 50 'more than the slope of the Red Pyramid, and followed that tendency later when building the Great Pyramid built by Pharaoh Khufu during the fourth Dynasty

The expansion of the rib of the Medom pyramid to 147 meters, making it an elevation of 93 meters, making it the fifth ranking among the pyramids of Egypt all from the height. And the size of the pyramid of Midum 638.733 meters] But it is not entirely clear whether the third phase of construction has taken place. Firema was an explanation for the burglary on the stones of the pyramid as opposed to what happened to the other pyramids. The theory that the outer part of the Medom pyramid collapsed on itself was not scientifically proven after the debris was examined and studied.
